About me

Mauricio (Lima,1987) is a Peruvian film director and screenwriter currently living in Brooklyn, NY. Although drawing and painting were his first means of artistic expression, he decided he wanted to pursue filmmaking as his main career since age 10.

After graduating from the Universidad De Lima with an Audiovisual Communication degree, he won the Best Short Film award in the 2011 contest held by the Peru Ministry of Culture. “Curandera”, the thesis film he made to complete his MFA in Film at Columbia University, premiered in Palm Springs Shortfest and got selected in many other film festivals worldwide.
